Conclusion:

The Global Compact Network India (GCNI) was formed in 2000 and registered as a non-profit society in November 2003 to function as the Indian Local Network of the UN Global Compact (UNGC), New York. GCNI is the first Local Network established with full legal recognition. As the UNGC’s local arm, GCNI has been acting as a country-level platform that provides support to Indian businesses, academic institutions, and civil society organizations towards strengthening responsible business practices in India by incorporating the Global Compact principles into their strategies, policies, and procedures and establishing a culture of integrity by catalysing action through Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). GCNI encourages its member companies/participants to uphold their ethical practices and responsibilities to Business, people, and the planet.
