To be accustomed to the Dry Port Facility and to understand activities performed at Dry Port - Container loading /unloading / Stuffing / De Stuffing / Customer clearance / Inspection etc.

An industrial visit was conducted at Dry Port , ICD , Dadri for PGDM Supply Chain students to make them understand about the facility & functionality of Dry Ports in India . A total of 11 Students accompanied by Professor & Area Chair Dr. Ghanshyam Sharma visited the Port at 02:00 PM on 24th April’2024. We met with Mr. Manish Sahay , Operations Manager at CMA -CGM logistics Park , ICD Dardi , who has facilitated the entire visit . CMA -CGM is the world leader in shipping with a presence in 160 countries through 400 offices , 750 warehouses , 155000 employees and a wide fleet of 620 vessels . CMA -CGM serves 420 of the world’s 521 commercial ports and operates 257 shipping lines . Students have been taken to the CFS Facility of CMA -CGM & Rail Yard facility located in the premises of ICD , Dadri . They were made aware of the activities of stuffing , loading and unloading of containers , Custom inspection and container seals .

Students witnessed firsthand the facilities & operations at Dry Port. They learnt about the shipping companies like CMA -CGM , APMT , MAERSK , All Cargo and Customs Office , located at ICD Premises . They understood about types of Containers , capacity & dimensions , Custom seals , commodities being transported , Rail dockyard , Loading /unloading equipment & SOP and Custom clearance .
