Objective

The objective of the Orientation Week for PGDM 2024-2026 at Lloyd Business School was to provide students with a comprehensive introduction to the academic, social, and professional dimensions of their upcoming journey. The program aimed to equip students for the challenges ahead while fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and belonging within the Lloyd community.

Detailed Report

Day 1: Prelude (1st July 2024)

The orientation began with a warm welcome by the host, Saloni Srivastava, who introduced the event and its significance. The day commenced with reporting, registration, and documentation followed by an auspicious Ganesh Puja, symbolizing academic excellence and cultural heritage. Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, the Chief Strategy officer, delivered a welcome address emphasizing Lloyd Business School's legacy and commitment to excellence. The day also featured inspiring speeches by Dr. Subrat Kumar, CEO, People Labs Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Ishan Taneja, Group MD & CEO, UAS International, focusing on leadership and global perspectives. The day concluded with an interactive session by Ms. Priyanka Ganguly, VP Marketing and Sales, Palm Olympia, promoting networking and engagement among the students.

Day 2: Corporate Insights (2nd July 2024)

Day 2 started with a video journey showcasing Lloyd's achievements followed by a special address from Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi. The highlight was the APJ Abdul Kalam Lecture delivered by Mr. Anand Pillai, Director LogarithmHR, focusing on business transformation and leadership. The day continued with sessions by Mr. Ashish Jain, Founder- The Startup Board on fostering entrepreneurship and a screening on "Management Lessons from Streets of India." The day concluded with an engaging session on frugal innovation and a speech by Mr. Surya Kant from the Ministry of Electronics & IT Startup Hub.

Day 3: Crafting Winning Strategies (3rd July 2024)

Day 3 commenced with a special address by Dr. Ripudaman Gaur, followed by a panel discussion on "Unlocking Insights in Business Analytics" and a keynote speech by Mr. Gagan Aggrawal from IBM, India on educational partnerships and skills development. The Business Analytics Area Chair, Dr. Saumendra Mohanty also introduced his team and the subjects. The day focused on team-building exercises led by Mr. Akshay Agarwal, Trainer and Motivational speaker, emphasizing collaboration and communication skills. It concluded with a quiz and awards ceremony recognizing participant achievements.

Day 4: Mind Matters (4th July 2024)

Day 4 began with sessions on leveraging HR acumen and stress management through chair yoga. Leveraging HR Acumen(Area Chair HR with HR Expert)- Shaleen Manik, CHRO, Transsion India (itel, Tecno & Infinix Mobiles) was engaged in a Panel discussion with the Area Chair Dr. Fehmina Khalique to understand the HR perspective of Management.  This was followed by a session on marketing mastery by Mr. Nishant Priyadarshi, Chief Business Officer, upGrad Campus, exploring industry trends and strategies in Marketing along with the Marketing Area Chair, Dr. Krity Gulati. The day continued with an expert session on fintech innovations by Mr. Chandresh Gupta from NSE in collaboration with the area chair of Finance, Dr. S K Matta. The day also witnessed, a treasure hunt activity, and a session by Founder & CEO- The Kaptive on scaling shared service centers. It concluded with a quiz and awards ceremony celebrating participant success.

Day 5: Global Dialogues (5th July 2024)

The final day commenced with a puja ceremony and featured speeches by Dr. Kunal Bose, President- Particle Technologies Asia (SCP), Alumnus IIT Kharagpur, University of Southampton UK, Columbia University on digital technologies and a cultural performance celebrating global diversity. Awards were presented for the Best SOP and Best Video, followed by an open house session with alumni sharing their experiences. The day concluded with a presentation on college rules and discipline and a global dialogue with Dr. Shailendra Kulkarni from the European Institute of Management & Technology, emphasizing international perspectives in education. Mr. Anthony Ng, CEO, MIT Malaysia addressed the students online with his insights on the India Inc and need for skilled professionals to meet the demand.

Overall, Diksharambh 2024 provided a comprehensive orientation experience, blending academic insights with cultural traditions and practical skills development, setting a strong foundation for the incoming PGDM students of Lloyd Business School.
