Role Play and Group Discussion aims to develop a wide range of essential skills for future management professionals. 

  • To enhance communication abilities, role play allows students to practice verbal and non-verbal communication in various business scenarios and group discussions, requiring students to articulate their thoughts clearly and listen actively to others
  • To enable students to take on different roles and perspectives, cultivate empathy, and improve their ability to relate to others.
  • To develop diverse opinions, helping them become more open-minded and tolerant of differing viewpoints.

ROLE-PLAY

For Role Play, Real World scenarios were given to 20 teams with 2 members each. Scenarios like Interview with a Difficult Candidate, negotiating a Job Offer, resolving a Workplace Dispute, Delivering Constructive Feedback, Dealing with Nepotism Accusations, Organizing a Surprise Team-Building Event.

The topics for Role play are as follows:

Interview with a Difficult Candidate

  • Role 1: Interviewer (HR representative)
  • Role 2: Candidate who is either overconfident, evasive, or underprepared.

Negotiating a Job Offer

  • Role 1: HR manager offering the role.
  • Role 2: Candidate negotiating salary, benefits, or flexibility.

Resolving a Workplace Dispute

  • Role 1: HR mediator.
  • Role 2: Employee with a grievance against a colleague or policy.

Delivering Constructive Feedback

  • Role 1: Manager or HR representative.
  • Role 2: Employee with performance improvement areas.

Responding to a Data Breach

  • Role 1: HR representative addressing the employee responsible for the breach.
  • Role 2: Employee explaining their actions or defending their case.

Dealing with Nepotism Accusations

  • Role 1: HR investigating a claim of favoritism in promotions.
  • Role 2: Employee accusing HR of bias or demanding fairness.

Organizing a Surprise Team-Building Event

  • Role 1: HR planning a surprise event and seeking feedback.
  • Role 2: Employee providing input while being curious about the surprise.
