Objectives:

The objective of the session was to provide students with practical industry insights into the field of Sales & Marketing and to break common misconceptions associated with marketing careers. The session aimed to help students understand the immense growth opportunities, skill development, challenges, and long-term career advantages offered by the sales and marketing domain through alumni interaction and experiential learning.

Detailed Report:

Lloyd Business School organized an engaging alumni interaction session under the Margdarshan – The Alumni Talk Series on May 8, 2026 (Friday). The session was delivered by Mr. Naman Goel, Alumni Batch 2023–25 and Key Account Manager at Saint-Gobain, on the topic “Breaking the Myth: Sales & Marketing as a Career Accelerator, Not a Barrier.” The Institutional Vision, Mission and Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) were presented and disseminated to all the members.

The session commenced at 11:45 AM with Mr. Naman Goel sharing his professional journey and experiences in the corporate sector. He addressed the common myths and misconceptions surrounding sales and marketing careers, emphasizing that the domain offers one of the fastest routes for professional growth, leadership development, and industry exposure.

Mr. Goel highlighted the various perks of pursuing a career in marketing, including dynamic work environments, networking opportunities, customer interaction, performance-based growth, and the development of communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. He explained how marketing roles enable professionals to gain first-hand exposure to market trends, customer behavior, and business strategy.

The speaker also discussed the vast opportunities available in the field, such as brand management, digital marketing, key account management, and strategic sales. The session further emphasized the importance of communication skills, confidence, persistence, and customer-centric thinking in building a successful career in this field.

The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students enthusiastically interacted with the speaker, seeking guidance regarding career paths, industry expectations, and skill enhancement strategies in sales and marketing.
