A day-long Faculty Development Program was held on Academic Business Cases: Development and Execution; was successfully conducted In Online Mode on the Zoom platform by the Research Cell of Lloyd Business School on 22nd January 2022. The Faculty Development program received participation from various academic institutions like; Amity University, Sharda University, G.D. Goenka University, SJJTU Rajasthan, Lovely Professional University, Alfalah University, Noida International University, Gautam Budha University, IMS Ghaziabad, JIMS, etc.
The resource person for the FDP was Prof. (Dr.) NimitGuptawho iscurrently associated as a Professor with North Cap University, Gurgaon. Being, a seasoned academician in outcome-based education, he is a certified marketing trainer trained by Dr. Philip Kotler. He is a qualified marketing expert from the University of British Columbia, Canada and Kyoto University, Japan and has 18 + years of experience in Teaching, Academic Administration, Consultancy and Research.
He has presented 30+ research papers/cases/articles in National and International Seminars organized by IIM (A), FMS, IIT (M), BIMTECH, IMT, etc. Dr. Nimit is a recipient of several scholastic performance awards including Best Case Award: Case Centre (USA), Best Case Writing Mentor- Katastasi, Excellence in Research Award: DIAS, MATES- Best Faculty Awardee, Salam Delhi Excellence in Education Awardee, ECONS Award for Outstanding Contribution in Higher Education, etc.
The FDP started with the introduction of Lloyd Business School, which was given by Dr. Fehmina Khalique.
After this, an Official Opening of the FDP and the Inaugural Address was done by Prof. (Dr.) Vandana Arora Sethi, Group Director, Lloyd Group of Institutions. In her address, the Group Director, welcome the Resource Person along with all the faculty members, participants from within and outside The Lloyd Group. During the address, it was emphasized by Prof. (Dr.) Vandana, the need for changing the habit and inculcating the aspiration ‘for learning to change the system’ as a lifelong process which can be very well understood through the importance of Business Case Studies.
She also appreciated the efforts of faculty members and participants for organizing and attending the FDP that reflected the hunger for knowledge, as Academicians. After this, address by Director, Lloyd Business School, Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Tiwari was given highlighting the significance of Business Case Studies in the Teaching-Learning system in the actual classrooms.
He underlined the concepts of 6 Skills for Cognitive Learning which include; Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Evaluating and Creating and these skills can be acquired by Management Students through the exposure of Case Studies in their teaching pedagogy.
The FDP’s first session on the First Theme ‘Introduction to Case Writing - Types of cases, Characteristics of a teaching case, identifying the elements of Case Writing’ then commenced after the inaugural session. The session set the basis for the foundation of Case Writing and underlined the important aspects to be taken care of when writing a Case Study. An activity was given by the resource person to all the participants based on the first session’s theme and participants were actively involved for the same.
After this first session, FDP continued with the next session on the theme ‘Writing the Case - Information collection process, Scenario building for case development’. In this session, the resource person talked about the various procedures and techniques through which information can be collected for writing and building case studies.
The FDP afterward went into its final session’s theme on ‘Writing effective Teaching Notes’. In this particular session, Developing Teaching Notes on case studies was underscored, that how teaching notes can supplement business case studies and find out the best problem-solving skills and options for a specific situation in a Case Study.
Inconclusion of the FDP, the Valedictory Session took place in which Dr. Poornima Madan proposed the Vote of Thanks. In her address, Dr. Poornima thanked Prof. Nimit for conductinga valuable FDP that helped to gain new insights for writing and developing a case study in workshop mode.
She also thanked President and Group Director, Lloyd Group of Institutions along with Director-LBS, Research Cell members and all other participants for attending the FDP and making it a success.
A four days Faculty Development Program on Research Methodology 1.0 was successfully conducted on the Zoom platform by Lloyd Business School. The Faculty development program received participation from various academic institutions like Gautam Budha University, IMS Ghaziabad, Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance, JIMS, etc. The FDP was delivered by Dr. Bhupender Kumar Som, Director, Lloyd Business School. He emphasised upon the increasing need of research in all the functional areas and expressed that research is an indispensable part of industry nowadays.
The four day program started with an introduction about research, research methodology, research questions and hypothesis formulation. Day one concluded with a small quiz and a small exercise where participants were expected to frame a research problem and formulate a hypothesis. Day two discussion was around methods of data collection, qualitative research, sample size, sample design, scale design and do’s & don'ts while preparing questionnaire etc.
The day concluded with a small quiz and a small activity related to questionnaire preparation. Day three discussions revolved around research designing. An extensive discussion on exploratory, descriptive and experimental methods of research design was held. Last day discussions were about data cleaning, coding and understanding the nature of data along with basic tabulation, cross tabulation and preparation of graphs.
The session received overwhelming feedback from the participants. Participants shared that they got an in-depth understanding about research concepts in simple and clear language with examples. They also opined that it enhanced their knowledge and was motivating enough to pursue research. Here is the feedback received from the participants where most of them feel that session was informative, structured, relevant and content clarity was there.
The session concluded with a valedictory session where Dr. Som apprised participants that the FDP1.0 is a part of a series of FDP on Research Methodology. FDP 2.0 will cover data analysis, reliability, validity, hypothesis building and testing i.e. parametric tests like T test, Chi-Square, ANOVA. ANCOVA, Correlation , Regression etc.and Non Parametric Test. FDP 3.0 will be about advanced analysis like SEM, Model Building etc. He further extended his gratitude to all the participants for joining and patient learning along with the research committee members of Lloyd Business School for organising this FDP 1.0.
A FDP was conducted for Faculty members at Lloyd Business School on Design Thinking which was conducted by IBM trainer Ms Diksha Pandit ( Master Certified Design Thinking from IBM).

After a Three Day workshop of fun, frolic, learning and exercises, the outcome of the problem and ideation created by Faculty Members as a deliverable outcome of the learning. The three days used the sequential process of design thinking persona mapping , as is scenarios, brainstorming ,Clustering , story boards, Voting , Grid review .
The session was inaugurated by the Director, Management, Dr Bhupender Kumar Som who started the FDP with enthusiasm and opportunity for the Faculty to develop an attitude to learning especially in the “new normal” , Covid crisis of online learning .
12 Faculties earned Practitioner Badges at the conclusion of the session after completing the four day exercises and a examination at the end of the FDP from IBM.

Under the guidance of Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, Group Director, Lloyd Group of Institutions, and Dr. Bhupender Kumar Som, Director, Lloyd Business School organized Faculty Development Program on “Business Case Development” from 8th June to 13th June, 2020 through online mode-You Tube live as well as Zoom session.
Business Case development and writing is an ongoing process and important for any academicians and researchers. Its importance arises from the fact that recent cases not only provide an element of interest among program participants, but also bring to the class the latest situations being faced by decision-makers. The Faculty Development Program on “Business Case Development” at Lloyd Business School, Greater Noida was designed to inculcate a systematic case study development and analysis in the academic fraternity. Lloyd Business School has always provided an opportunity for its inhouse- faculty and the faculties of different institutions the opportunities for case development analysis.
Six-days Faculty Development Program where various case related subtopics were discussed in detail by the eminent speaker, Dr. Anuja Pandey, Head AIMA India Case Research Centre (ICRC). The main topics covered under this FDP were the use of case studies in management education, elements of a case Study, constructing a case study, constructing teaching notes, evaluating a case study and feedback and review. The FDP program received an overwhelming response with 40 participants from different colleges.

The faculty of Lloyd underwent a four-day Training & Development Programme on Business Intelligence conducted by Mr. Nitin Gupta, Senior Consultant at IBM. Mr. Nitin is an IBM Watson Customer Engagement Specialist. Apart from development gateways & other analytical business processes for various corporate clients, he has been actively training professionals & students regarding various tools & techniques provided by IBM for career development. Mr. Nitin gave a hands-on experience on Watson Analytics, an extensive analytic tool used for deriving in-depth insights from raw data. The 4-day session was a delightful experience as the faculty members came across vast implications of this tool in the filed of academics.
FDP: Business Intelligence Made Easier: 26th to 29th Dec 2018
An Faculty Development Program FDP ON Business Intelligence was conducted in Lloyd Business School, from 26th to 29th Dec 2018 , a 4 Day informative training on Business Intelligence by Senior Consultant ,IBM, Mr Nitin Gupta.
The Faculty Development Program was organized for Faculty of Management so that Faculty can develop expertise in Analytics applications in Business Domains .The application of the tool : IBM Business Analytics Cognos 11.0. The learning’s of the training can be applied in research paper writing, case study discussions and class discussions. Business intelligence tools are essentially data-driven Decision Support Systems (DSS). BI tools discussed, faculty can start analyzing the data themselves, rather than wait for IT to run complex reports. These tools are helpful in business decisions with hard numbers, rather than only gut feelings and anecdotes.
The session was in all a great learning platform by Lloyd for the Faculty enhancement in Business Analytics and Big Data Analysis.
FDP: Applications of Business Analytics: 15th September 2018
A one day session was held on 15th September 2018 for Inter College Faculty by IBM on applications of business analytics. The event saw participation from more than 10 colleges. Students from colleges like Galgotias, DTU, GNIOT, GL BAJAJ etc were some who appreciated the advent of analytics as a reformation tool for business implications. The event was highly appreciated and looked forward to many more.
FDP: Intelligence through Predictive Modeling: 22nd June 2018
Analytics is the changing paradigm of businesses of future. Systems and processes are ever changing drastically to include the power of technology and analytics to drive pragmatic and revolutionary business updations. A session on SPSS Modeller, IBM tool for Business Analytics was conducted in Lloyd Business School for the Faculty. The session was a 4 day event with hands on experiences on model creating and testing the models.
The session was conducted for faculty so that they can utilize the analytics knowledge in their expertise area of business functions and apply as tools for case study analysis etc.
The tool was a pragmatic tool and the learning’s for the session were immense. IBM expert Trainer, Ms Niharika , Consultant, Predictive Analytics, IBM India conducted the sessions.
